Hudson is 10.2 miles north-east of Brighton, inside the radius we work in most weeks. That means quick turnaround on a quote visit, and it means a crew can come back the next day for a small item without the drive swallowing the job.
Hudson is a community of roughly 1,651 residents, and Hudson sits in Weld County. Hudson sits on the plains along I-76, north-east of Brighton, at about 5,000 feet. There is open ground on most sides and very little natural shade or windbreak: lawns dry out from the edges in, irrigation coverage matters more than irrigation volume, and a patio or driveway takes sun and wind from every direction.
Below is what Hudson's own offices and water provider publish about permits, watering and backflow testing for the kind of work we do, checked October 13, 2026, with a link to each source.
Town of Hudson Building Permits & Inspections. Applications go through the CommunityCore portal, and the chief building official and inspection scheduling are provided through ProCode.

Public Works & Utilities requires a Right of Way Use/Access permit before trenching, utility work, road work, driveway cuts, culvert installation, boring or any other work in the right-of-way. A traffic control plan, bonding and insurance may be required, and processing averages 2 business days. Contractors making street cuts or excavations in the right-of-way must register with the Town, carry commercial liability insurance and post a bond warrantying the work for up to one year.

The Town's permit guide exempts private sidewalks, walks and driveways that are no more than 30 inches above grade, are not over a basement and are not part of an accessible route. Excavations under 50 cubic yards are also exempt from permits.

A permit, with zoning and building review, is required for retaining walls over 4 feet tall measured from the bottom of the footing to the top of the wall. Any wall that supports a surcharge or impounds Class I, II or IIIA liquids also needs a permit.

Watering rules change with drought stages and seasons. These are the rules the water provider published as of October 13, 2026; check the linked page before you seed, sod or change a sprinkler schedule.

The Town's Water and Sewer design criteria (Vol. II, 2017) require a backflow assembly on any type of irrigation system: an air gap, AVB, PVB or RP depending on design. The Town Utilities Department must accept the assembly before installation, and it must be tested before the certificate of occupancy and retested every year.

Concrete driveways, walkways, patios and repairs (concrete), new lawns and lawn repairs (sod installation), sprinkler repair and winterization (sprinkler repair), plus xeriscape and retaining walls, kitchen, bath and basement remodeling, flooring and interior painting. A job that spans more than one of those is still one crew and one point of contact.
Yes. Hudson is about 10.2 miles north-east of our home base in Brighton, well inside the area we work in most weeks. Hudson sits in Weld County, and the permit question for your specific job gets answered before work starts, not after.
At about 5,000 feet, the Front Range gives a reasonably long season for concrete and landscape work, though the shoulder months swing hard. Interior work - remodeling, flooring, painting - runs year round, and winter is usually the easiest time to get it scheduled.
We work throughout these neighbouring communities as well: Keenesburg (6.3 mi), Lochbuie (7.7 mi), Brighton (10.2 mi). The full list is on our service area page.
