Nederland is about 38.8 miles west of Brighton. That is outside our day-to-day radius, so we schedule work here in blocks rather than one visit at a time, and we are straight with you about the calendar before anything is booked. Larger projects travel better than small ones.
Nederland is a community of roughly 1,471 residents, and Nederland sits in Boulder County. Nederland sits in the mountains west of Boulder, at about 8,230 feet. At this elevation the frost-free season is shorter than in the cities below and the ground stays frozen longer on both ends of the year, which narrows the window for pouring concrete and laying sod and puts more weight on protecting new concrete while it cures.
Below is what Nederland's own offices and water provider publish about permits, watering and backflow testing for the kind of work we do, checked October 13, 2026, with a link to each source.
Town of Nederland Building, Planning & Zoning Department (Community Planner). Building and right-of-way permit applications go to planner@nederlandco.org. The Town says it is governed by the 2024 ICC codes and uses SAFEbuilt for some plan review.

Work in the Town right-of-way needs a permit. The Right-of-Way & Excavating and Blasting Permit Application (rev. 6/2024) lists a $125 right-of-way fee, a $175 excavation fee, a $1,000 security deposit for right-of-way work, proof of liability insurance, and warranties of 6 months for dirt and 1 year for concrete or asphalt. New driveways that access a public street need a culvert at least 18 inches in diameter, approved by Public Works with the building permit (NMC 11-21, 11-23).

The Town's posted IRC list of work exempt from permits includes sidewalks and driveways. In residential zones, though, an excavation permit is required unless the dig is on private property, doesn't affect the right-of-way, moves less than 50 cubic yards, and is outside floodplain and wetlands (NMC 11-42).

Under the Town's posted IRC exempt-work list, retaining walls no more than 4 feet tall, measured from the bottom of the footing to the top of the wall, are exempt unless they support a surcharge. Taller or surcharged walls need a permit.

Watering rules change with drought stages and seasons. These are the rules the water provider published as of October 13, 2026; check the linked page before you seed, sod or change a sprinkler schedule.

The Town's Utilities page doesn't post a watering schedule. Under the Municipal Code (NMC 13-71, 13-72), the Town Administrator can limit lawn-watering days and hours when needed, with Board of Trustees approval.

When conservation measures are in effect, the Director of Public Works may issue special permits, for a fee, to water newly sodded lawns daily for up to 14 consecutive days and newly seeded lawns for up to 25 consecutive days (NMC 13-73).

Commercial users, and residential users with hazards such as a well or other auxiliary supply, internal cross-connections or a fire system, must install an approved backflow device. Required devices must be tested at installation and at least once a year by a certified cross-connection control technician, who sends the results to the Director of Public Works (NMC 13-198, 13-200, 13-202).

Concrete driveways, walkways, patios and repairs (concrete), new lawns and lawn repairs (sod installation), sprinkler repair and winterization (sprinkler repair), plus xeriscape and retaining walls, kitchen, bath and basement remodeling, flooring and interior painting. A job that spans more than one of those is still one crew and one point of contact.
Yes. Nederland is about 38.8 miles west of our home base in Brighton, within the radius we schedule work in blocks for. Nederland sits in Boulder County, and the permit question for your specific job gets answered before work starts, not after.
At about 8,230 feet, the season is shorter on both ends than it is lower down along the Front Range. Concrete and sod both have narrower windows here, and irrigation needs to be winterized earlier. Interior work - remodeling, flooring, painting - runs year round, and winter is usually the easiest time to get it scheduled.
We work throughout these neighbouring communities as well: Ward (7.6 mi), Jamestown (12.5 mi), Boulder (13.7 mi). The full list is on our service area page.
