Milliken is about 21.5 miles north of our Brighton home base - a routine drive for us, and one we make regularly. Quote visits and scheduled work both fit our normal week here.
Milliken is home to about 8,386 people, and Milliken sits in Weld County. Milliken sits near the Big Thompson River, south-west of Greeley, at about 4,750 feet.
Below is what Milliken's own offices and water provider publish about permits, watering and backflow testing for the kind of work we do, checked October 13, 2026, with a link to each source.
Town of Milliken Building Services (Community Development); building department functions by SAFEbuilt. Permits are submitted through CommunityCore; SAFEbuilt provides plan review, inspections and building official services, and contractors must hold a Town contractor license before a permit is issued.

Milliken enforces the 2024 IRC (Code Sec. 18-10-10, Ord. 834); its amendments to the IRC permit exemptions (R105.2) change only the shed, fence (6 ft) and shingle-repair items, leaving the IRC retaining-wall exemption (walls up to 4 ft, measured from the bottom of the footing to the top of the wall, that do not support a surcharge) unchanged.

Town water is treated by Central Weld County Water District (connecting on the south side) and the City of Greeley (from the north), and the page names a Town-owned Alluvial Well Blending Facility as the newest supply; the Town also runs non-potable irrigation from its Hillsborough Ditch shares.

Concrete driveways, walkways, patios and repairs (concrete), new lawns and lawn repairs (sod installation), sprinkler repair and winterization (sprinkler repair), plus xeriscape and retaining walls, kitchen, bath and basement remodeling, flooring and interior painting. A job that spans more than one of those is still one crew and one point of contact.
